IPSharkk is a tool that makes your computer “invisible” on the web (it hides your IP address). Unlike standard proxies, where one IP is used by thousands of people, here one IP will be much less used, and will make it impossible to detect that you are using proxy.

How does IP Sharkk work?

IP Sharkk allows you to hide your IP and connect through someone elses IP who is in your network. That basically means that you will get 100% anonymity because your real IP will be hidden.

IP Sharkk is a Network program that randomly sends a different IP signal to each member of a group of internet users who share their own IP and are concerned about their internet security. Tor is one of the most popular hide IP tools as it is free and it allows users browse in (almost) total privacy.

Tor improves your security and your privacy through a network of virtual tunnels. With Tor, you have anonymous outgoing connections along with hidden services to protect not only your privacy but to give you more protection against traffic analysis attacks.

As any other solution Tor comes also with several downside you should be aware about. Here is a list of pros and cons for this tool.

Pros

• It’s completely free;
• Encrypts all traffic (incoming and outgoing) between his nodes;
• It is virtually virtually unbeatable (if properly configured)

Cons

• The configuration is not trivial;
• The perfomance is unpredictable as it depends on routes between the Tor network nodes;
• Not suitable for p2p applications such as Torrent;
• It only protects applications that are configured to work through Tor. No automatic configuration.
• As written on Tor’s Downloading page: “While Tor blocks attackers on your local network from discovering or influencing your destination, it opens new risks: malicious or misconfigured Tor exit nodes can send you the wrong page, or even send you embedded Java applets disguised as domains you trust.”

Uu.tj is a web proxy hosted on a server in Moscow, Russian Federation. This proxy allows you browse the web with a Russian IP address, unblock MySpace, YouTube, Facebook with a Russian identity.

A new hide IP tool has been released on the market: SurfProxy. I found out out this tool on DigitalPoint and it soundsinteresting as it is freeware.

Here is some info from the product description:

SurfProxy is an application created to help you access websites from your office,home or school when they are blocked by firewalls and website filtering software. This ‘Freeware’ had a function of changing the IP address that was used to access website,this used proxy that was met free.

You can visit sites like Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Stumble Upon, Digg, and your Favorite Forums with absolutely no problems.

SurfProxy was released in December 2008 and it looks very similar to another product that I have tried, called Hide-IP-Browser. It’s a small browser that uses proxies in order to hide your IP address.

They promise not to charge you only after the trial period, but anyway I don’t find this very pleasant.
