“Popular Post” is back

After upgrading my WordPress from 2.3.3 to 2.6.3 I had the unpleasant surprise to see that Popular Contest plugin can not be activated due to a “fatal error”. :(

I was quite disappointed to find out that Alex King (the creator of the plugin) does not longer support the project (at least for now). Probably he has something better to do these days … unfortunately for those who love the plugin.

As I was not ready to let it go without a fight, I start looking for “hacks”. After several tries (including How To: Fixing Popularity Contest Plugin for WordPress 2.5) I finally found the solution: Popularity Contest plugin for WordPress. Thank you, guys!

Now,  “Popular Posts” is back. Take a look the left sidebar to see what are the most visited hide ip posts ALL TIME.
