On Yahoo! Answers someone asked if proxy server were legal:
I know that proxy servers can be used to avoid filters/website blocks, however I do not know if these are legal. The particular situation would be in a school, to avoid blocked websites.
To make things clear: proxy servers are perfectly legal! It only depends on you how you use them. But even though you use a proxy for some illegal activity, this does not make the use of proxy illegal.
So, to use proxies at school is legal, but it can be against their policy, which is something else. You can not be prosecuted for using a proxy, but you can be disciplinary punished (maybe suspended).

Yeah it is illegal to use a proxy in school and you can get a bad punishment the council itself might get involved take it from me i just got done a few days ago for it and i am suspended
lol my school computers are wack we dont even use them lol we just use iphones
Just learn how to get into the admin account at school, and you won’t need to worry about proxies, lol.
