FreeGate – Gateway to free Internet

FreeGate is an anti-censorship software for secure and faster Internet access. Developed and maintained by Dynamic Internet Technology Inc. (DIT), FreeGate can be used to access web sites overseas as fast as the local ones. It is only a single executable file and it requires no installation.

FreeGate works together with DynaWeb, a P2P-like proxy network system.

FreeGate’s anti-censorship capability is further enhanced by a new, unique encryption and compression algorithm in the version of 6.33 and above.

It is a Windows application that runs on most Windows platforms from Windows 98 to Vista, as well as on Linux and MAC through http://www.winehq.org/.

Freegate isn’t bad, but there are several sites that block it.

That isn’t Freegate’s fault, but it does somewhat limit Freegate’s usefulness.

As you probably know by now, Freegate now serves only users in mainland China (and possibly Iran).

Other users should try the very similar Ultrasurf, available free from

      http://www.ultrareach.net
