Update: FreeGate is not free anymore
In a comment to a post on FreeGate, Danov signals that FreeGate it does not working starting from 1st of January 2009.
starting from 1/1/2009 freegate only open free for china , but the rest of the world is NOT !!!! i tried to use it today and its only open there official site & google ONLY !! i think this is BAD.
I have tried to use FreeGate and indeed it is not working. Here is the error I get:

What to do to browse anonymously?
If FreeGate does not work for you, then check a VPN service like HideIpVPN, HideMyAss or IAPS Security Services.

It is very true freegate is out of service

Since 1/1/09, same results on my end.
Only google and nothing else, gee that sits so well in the pit of my stomach.
I like freegate it has some good Advantages , i think they need
some financial support why they just don’t open the donation
NOT to close suddenly, they can just stop US,EUROPE from
using there service (i dont know why people in these counters
uses freegate because they have the freedom to visit any
religious,human right site)
**Believe me there is WALLS not only in CHINA , like: Iran Saudi Arabia & others.
I heard some where that they do this because of their system overload !
They can only support china for free and the rest should buy the software !
@danov: You are right. If they need financial support, they should accept donations. A lot of people would be glad to help them.
