UK proxies (proxies that are hosted on servers located in UK) are not very common and easy to use. Most of the proxies you can find on Proxy.org or similar site are from US. Every now and then you need to change your IP address to an IP from UK. These proxies allow you unblock MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, etc., login on forums, web chat rooms, as a UK citizen.
Web proxies are the most simple way to change your IP address. The main advantage of a web proxy is the fact that you don’t have to install anything. Just visit the proxy, type in the desired URL and press the Go or Submit button. The site will be loaded from the IP of the proxy not from your IP address.
I have gathered here a list of 7 web proxies that are now functional and that are hosted on UK servers. This may change in the future. As you probably know web proxies have a short life.

This is useful when your own access is limited, but you can reach a server that can in turn reach others that you can’t.

I read a lot of these blogs – website entrys about altering ip addresses and still I am left with the glaring obvoius question that everyone who lives outside the UK wants a uk ip address for – How do I watch bbciplayer with one of these.
Everyone of these services I try fails. Its such a basic question and if someone actually provided the answer without wanting us to pay extortionate amounts of money they would get web traffic they couldn`t believe.
@Ian – You are right. Most of these services fail. I recommend you try HideIPVPN (http://hideipvpn.com). They offer about 100 free UK VPN accounts per month.
None of these sites enable Java Scripting so you cannot get at the download URLs for the BBC iPlayer.
The only reliable free service (not for bandwidth but for getting at the URLs) is offered by your-freedom.net.
Unfortunately that has just been blocked over here …
