The days when Internet Explorer was the only target for hackers are long gone. Nowadays, all browsers are targeted and security vulnerabilities are found all the time.
Google has recently updated Chrome, to version 1.0.154.64, to fix two serious security vulnerabilities. One of those two lets a remote attacker execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the logged on user (the worst security problem one can have).

Also, Firefox has been updated to fix several security issues. The release of version 3.0.9. was immediately followed by another one to fix other issues. Security problems and updates for Firefox are showing up at an increasingly fast rate.
A paper that shows how different web browsers do security updates reveals that the implementation of this feature can have a big impact on the overall security. This is important because having the latest version means increased security and be less vulnerable.
Google Chrome updates to the latest version without the need to restart the browser, and doesn’t let users disable the silent updates. As a result, 97% of users have the latest, most secure version installed. For Firefox, this number is 85%; for Safari, 53%, and for Opera, mere 24%.

I think that Internet is no safety in original. And browsers
not guilty for their unsafety.
@Searcher – You are right! Browsers are not to blame.
since i use firefox instead of ie, i have no problems with trojans or viruses. plus i recommend to use “Kaspersky” Internet Security. i spend 12-14 hrs in Internet and i know what im talking about.
