How To Access Spotify From Anywhere

Spotify is a  music streaming service that it is likely to become highly popular soon. Spotify offers you legal and free access to a huge library of music. All you need to do is create an account and download our streaming music player.

The service is currently limited to streaming music to the following countries: United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France and Spain. Only users from the United Kingdom can create a Spotify account without invitation.

The Solution

To access Spotify from US, for example, you need to get an IP address from one of the countries where the access is allowed (UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France or Spain). As UK users do not need an invitation to be able to create an account, trying to get an UK IP address is the first way to go.

There are many tools that offer UK IPs; here are severals that I recommend (unfortunately none is free):

If you already have an invitation you can get Swedish IP addresses with Relakks and IPREDator and French IPs with UltraVPN (free), IP Hider and IP Privacy. Enjoy!

Update 9/14/2009: HideIPVPN is a free way to get a UK IP address and unblock Spotify.
