Yesterday, I posted an article on Chinese users trying to access free VPNs and I realized that I didn’t know much about the situation the Chinese users are facing regarding the VPN access. So, the following poll addresses mostly to the Chinese readers of How-to-hide-ip.info and to those that travelled to China lately.
What are the VPNs (free or paid) that can be used in China to bypass the Great Firewall?
The below list contains VPN services that I mentioned on this blog during the last months. There may be other services that could be used to overcome censorship in China. If you know any, let me know and I’ll add them to the poll.
The results of this poll should be interesting and useful to all Chinese Internet users seeking online freedom.
Enjoy!
PS. By the way, this is the 500th post on How-to-hide-ip.info! Hurray!

Dear Hideipadmin
I think my friend who was china used c-kiosk anonymous browser, though not sure really.
BTW,Congratulation on your achievement of reaching 500th post!
Kinda of sure u will reach 1000th post very soon,LOL…
I won a anonymitynetwork VPN in december with how-to-hide-ip and I used it in China (that is where I live). This VPN works perfectly here and I didn’t have any issue. ACEvpn is also working fine.
The situation of the internet in RPC is really getting worst a lot of foreign websites and services are blocked but strangely http://www.how-to-hide-ip.info is still accessible !
Anyway, VPN are more and more popular in China among expats and chinese.
I started a blog to give some info and advices to bypass the Great FireWall (see http://www.overgfw.blogetery.com). But now the blogetery blog plateform is blocked here (as nearly all blog platform). So I haven’t updated the blog for a while, but you can have a look anyway.
If any VPN provider can’t help crying reading these lines he could make me happy giving me a VPN account, I will make some tests here and write some review on the services.
thanks for your blog and congratulation for the 500th post !
@freelibris – Thanks! I’ll add AnonymityNetwork to the poll.
I’m sorry to hear that you have problems with your blog. I’ll let you know if a VPN provider is willing to offer free account for you.
Anyway, I would be glad to host some posts if yours if you are willing. Just let me know.
@Admin Thanks, let me know if you can get a free VPN licence for me.
Of course you can host some of my posts there visibility would be increased. An also good idea would be to inform people when a new version of freegate and ultrasurf is available (including the beta versions).
you can contact me via mail if you want to discuss about that.
I think more VPN services should be offered to customers abroad. Most VPN’s are offered in countries like the UK and USA. There is large demand for VPN services for European and US customers trying to remain anoymous
