Free US VPN from MacroVPN

MacroVPNMacroVPN has announced the launch of a free VPN service that provides a US IP address. Thus, the service provided by Macro VPN unblocks all websites and online services that are restricted to US users. Also you are able to access Skype, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and more from anywhere with 100% Internet freedom!

MacroVPN looks like a new VPN service. The site is unfinished and many info are taken from the StrongVPN site. It does not seem to be a trustable provider, but it offers free VPN. So, if your are disperate to get a US IP address, give it try.

Important! The true about this offer is that it is more like an extended trial than a free VPN account. You get 1GB traffic limit and 512kbps download limit. After the traffic limit is reach you’ll have to pay.

What you need to do to get an free VPN account?

First you need to go to this page and create an account. Choose a username, a password for your account and enter some data in the first name, last name, city, zip fields. Your account will be created instantly and you will be able to login.

You will see that there are three servers that you can access: us1.macrovpn.com, us2.macrovpn.com, us6.macrovpn.com. Unfortunately, the setup tutorials seems to be only in Chinese, but you can find a lot of fine PPTP or L2TP tutorials by searching on Google or by taking a look to other VPN services. For example, take a look to HideIpVPN tutorials. The setup is simple and you will be able to access the MacroVPN servers.

I have tested the service for a while. It provides a US IP address, but the speed is quite low. For example, I was not able to watch Hulu. Otherwise, the account is good and is able to unblock Twitter, Facebook, etc.

The conclusion is that the accounts provided by MacroVPN are suitable if you have an urgent need to access a site that it is blocked. The 1 GB limit is too low to use it as a permanent solution.

These are russians with such called service.Be careful, most of them are scammers.Just like The Free VPN,and Secrets Line, who claims it offers a free account but it doesn’t work.I’ve had enough with these fake services. All they want to do is some easy money. Not to mention that some of them are honeypots to track users and keep logs.Choose carefully if you want to buy.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE — possible scacm

1.) first setup and tested free account
    – speeds listed faster for free than what they actually are

2.) signed up on a Thursday early morning for $5
    – changed to paid server address to no availability

3.) emailed support early in the morning since live support was unavailable
    – no response by late night (~14 hours later)
    – 3 hours later and still no response nor live support

Will be contacting paypal(unfortunately) for requesting a refund within the next 7-10 days if still no response or service.

The only reason that 99 % of users would want a VPN provider like Macro VPN has been eliminated. Macro VPN now only allows access to U.S. servers for paying customers. Free trials are excluded.

Move on, nothing to see here.
