List of VPN Services that allow P2P/Torrent traffic

Most VPN providers have a disclaimer or clause in their TOS which excludes the use of their services for P2P traffic of an any nature (illegal or not). Many VPN servers got suspended lately by hosting providers due to DMCA complaints, so VPN providers are very careful when it comes to P2P/torrent traffic.

Here is a list of several VPN services that allow P2p/Torrent traffic (alphabetically ordered):

VPN Provider Countries Price Bandwidth
CyberGhost VPN Germany 1GB free/ 40GB – 9.99 EUR 40 GB
HideIpVPN Germany, Netherlands $7.95/month Unlimited
HideMyAss USA, Canada, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, Hungary, Portugal, Sweeden from $11.52/month Unlimited

Torrentfreedom/Cryptocloud is poor service, I first tried torrenfreedom 2(?) year ago bad speed, then a year later I tried their “new” cryptocloud again piss poor service. Not sure about now… just be warn.

AceVPN I tested the cheaper package is ok speed but limited to 50gb, didn’t test their new Ultimate version.

Are there any good & cheap OpenVPN service that supports P2P?

CORRECTION — StrongVPN should not be on this list. It will turn over your info to DMCA with no warning and cut off your service. Happened to me.

@johnboy – I have removed StrongVPN from the list. Thank you for letting us know.

Do you recommend any service over the others? In other words, do you have a preferred VPN? Thank you for this amazing post.

    Just found this one:
    http://www.vpnmaster.com

In their FAQs they state they allow torrents on their Germany Servers.
Thought it’d be nice to add here.

HMA sucks, yup! I had been using hidemyass for several years now, downloaded often, but ya know they got a complaint and suspended my service with no warning, and or explanation, when I inquired about it, then they told of such complaint. Of course it’s my fault for downloading material I should have not been doing but the name is HIDEMYASS! and these assholes failed to do that, they should have said, ok, to complaint and given me a warning without any suspension of service, kind of what my ISP did! That’s why I sought a vpn service, so when they decided to reinstall my subscription, I kindly told them I’ve already deleted software, and would rather receive funds back for remainder of such subscription. They suck, cause their name implies, hiding one’s activities and clearly they freaking failed to do just that!!

I believe swissvpn is definitely the best. Its based in switzerland, which has laws specifically protecting the privacy of internet users so tracking users and warning them about copyright violations is actually illegal there. Its one of the cheapest i’ve come across (6 bucks a month), and I’ve downloaded several shows (about 100 gb total) in the past week. I believe this is the safest way to go. Im trying to download as much crap as i can this month, especially ones that are tracked by showtime etc., so that i dont have to download anything for a long time. You pay month by month, there is no renewal, and its through paypal. im very happy with the service. It does go slower because there arent as many seeders in switzerland, and its harder to connect to seeders here, but its no big deal unless you wanna watch something a few hours after you start downloading.
