The idea is simple and effective: it uses the Tor project, Firefox Portable, Foxyproxy and a Flash Player Plug-in bundled in a compact package that is easy to run and it does not need any configuration. It is completely portable, you can install it on a USB drive and take it anywhere you want. You can even run it from your workplace or school.

With the WebTvUnleashed package you can:

• Watch the BBC iPlayer ouside the UK
• Watch the ITV Player outside the UK
• Watch Demand Five outside the UK
• Watch the BBC News 24 Channel Live outside the UK

In order to install is you need to download the zip file from here: Download ‘Tor UK Catchup TV Package Beta V0.3′. Then unzip it, open the folder ‘Tor UK Catchup TV Package Beta V0.3′ and click the ‘Start Tor UK Catchup TV’ executable.

A Firefox browser will show up with predefined bookmarks that you can use to easily access BBC iPlayer, Demand Five, ITV Player. 

Next, click on Tor row:

Take a look to the existing URL patterns and then add a new pattern by cliking the Add New Pattern button.

Important! I have tested this solution for TvCatchUp, but, unfotunaltely it does not work.

OpenVPN

OpenVPN uses the OpenSSL library to provide encryption of both the data and control channels. FoxyProxy

One of the best features of FoxyProxy is that it allows you to set up pre-defined “rules”. Thus, FoxyProxy can automatically switch between one or more proxy servers depending on which website you’re browsing.

You can set up FoxyProxy so that your proxy remains inactive until you go to certain websites. As soon as FoxyProxy recognizes the URL you have predefined, it automatically opens the website using a proxy and will keep it active until you leave the site.

How to set up a pattern for FoxyProxy

If you want to access youtube using a proxy while browsing the other websites normally, you’ll have to setup the following URL pattern:

http://www.youtube.com/*

In the FoxyProxy settings click “Add New Pattern”.

The URL pattern to add is: http://www.youtube.com/*

You can activate the URL pattern you setup by right clicking the fox icon in the bottom right corner of your browser window and selecting “Use proxies based on their pre-defined patterns and priorities”.
