An Argentine judge has decided that Google and Yahoo must censor search results from their Argentine sites for information about the various individuals. This measuare was initiated by a group of about 70 fashion models, represented by the same lawyer, who asked the Internet companies to block all search results with their names with the intent of blocking pornographic sites that used the models’ pictures.

Both Yahoo and Google have initially refused to censor their results but after the matter was taken to court they had to comply. Read the whole story on CNET.com.

Hide IP projects that are not available anymore

Lately, I have come across several hide IP solutions there are not anymore sustained by their developers. These projects seem completely abandoned, they don’t even answer to the email requests. The reasons for abandoning them may be diverse, one of the most probable being the maintenance costs. Most of the hide ip solutions available on the market are based on proxies or VPN. Both involve significant costs.

The bottom line is that projects listed below are not available anymore for the users looking for privacy.

Improved GPass Available

Download UtraSurf from How-To-Hide-IP.info

It seems that UtraSurf’s home site is banned in several countries (like India or China), so a lot of privacy lovers don’t have access to this simple and effective hide ip software. In order to help them, I have uploaded UtraSurf on my site. Three flavors are available:

the original zip file (u.zip)
the unzipped exe (u.exe - all you need to run UtraSurf)
the original zip with a jpg extension (u.jpg - after download you need to change the .jpg extesion to .zip)

Hide IP Google Custom Search

As you probably know already, Google new custom search (beta) is more powerful and more flexible than before. The selection of specific sites and keywords make the search more exact and straighforward.

Reading about this tool, I have decided to implement it for those who need more specific, hide ip related results than those offered by simply using Google. The first step was to select several sites like proxy.org, whatismyipaddress.com, allanonymity.com, proxify.com, etc., plus keywords like “hide ip“, “mask ip address“, “invisible browsing“, “what is my ip address“, “proxy“, etc. The next and final step was to add the Google custom box to the blog.

You can see the result in the right sidebar, under “Hide IP Google Custom Search“.

New UltraSurf Release

Not much to say about the new release of UltraSurf. Version 9.2 hasn’t new features added, but, as rajesh rana says:

it is much faster than 8.9
it easily connects to the server(s)

I would add that the new version works also with Firefox by using an add-on that can be downloaded from the UtraSurf web site.
